  • The course Project Management Fundamentals (Ref. 8545) is a recommended prerequisite.

The program of training

This course is designed to build on the core skills of project managers, enabling them to successfully manage complex projects driven by their scale, the level of stakeholder influence, transformation challenges, and associated risks.

1 – Optimising project value creation

  • Positioning the project within its environment, portfolio or programme to ensure strategic alignment
  • Identifying the types of value delivered (financial and non-financial)

  • Building a business case using financial and non-financial metrics

2 – Defining the implementation strategy for the project

  • Selecting the appropriate development approach (by work packages, incremental)

3 – Managing the project through risks and opportunities

  • Anticipating how individuals and organisations respond to risk and the impact on projects
  • Sharing risks as a lever for stakeholder engagement
  • Optimising risk responses and quantifying risk provisions
  • Identifying early warning signs and risk factors
  • Identifying and converting opportunities into value

4 – Integrating stakeholders at the heart of the project strategy

  • Assessing stakeholder impact on project success and value delivery (acceptance)
  • Mapping internal and external stakeholders
  • Implementing tailored stakeholder strategies (engagement, support, training, communication)
  • Optimising the project governance model: defining effective governance and decision-making structures

5 – Set up dashboards to monitor project progress

  • Defining key project performance indicators (cost, schedule, quality, risks, etc.)
  • Monitoring performance metrics (progress, Earned Value, OTD, DoD, time tracking, etc.)
  • Leveraging artificial intelligence (AI) to support project and programme management
  • Exploring collaborative project management tools (Project, Notion, Teams, etc.)

6 – Securing decision-making within the project

  • Preparing for negotiation: identifying room for manoeuvre and potential trade-offs
  • Using questioning and active listening techniques to foster dialogue
  • Presenting objective arguments and articulating project constraints
