When it comes to artificial intelligence, companies' level of maturity is highly heterogeneous. Generally speaking, the larger the organization and the more resources it has, the more likely it is to have developed use cases, but not always. Cegos has developed an assessment tool to help you find out where your company stands with regard to this innovation. Want to test?
The year 2024 marked a turning point in the adoption of artificial intelligence by businesses. The latter have been at the heart of several initiatives. The ESSEC Change Chair, for example, has launched an inter-company working group bringing together major groups (Orange, RATP, Covéa, Naval Group…), who intend to formalize the conditions and processes for deploying AI in business.
However, companies differ widely in their level of AI maturity. “Some have already integrated it into their processes, or even their business model, as is the case in Tech or industry, while others are still at the experimental stage or looking for use cases,” notes Grégory Gallic, manager of the Learning Engineering offering at Cegos.
Whatever the case, in the face of the growing power of AI, all company employees, whatever their hierarchical level, need to get to grips with the AI subject. A good way to do this is to carry out a self-assessment on the maturity level of your working environment.
Four different maturity levels
Developed by Cegos, the self-assessment tool enables L&D and HR professionals in large groups and SMEs to assess their organization's generative AI maturity. “The tool consists of 40 questions, covering 4 themes: organization, corporate culture, technology and skills. We're offering a lighter version with 20 questions,” explains Grégory Gallic, who initiated the project. After answering all the statements, with choices ranging from “Strongly disagree” to “Strongly agree”, users are directed towards 4 different levels of maturity: Explorer (the initial stage of discovery of generative AI), Learner, Adopter or Transformer (the most advanced stage, where AI is already integrated into corporate strategy).
For each topic, the tool highlights the company's strengths and areas for improvement, in the form of a radar chart. For example: a suitable technical infrastructure, openness to change, creating certification courses…
Identify the IA training courses best suited to your company's needs
At the end of the test, L&D and HR professionals can not only situate their company, but also define their next steps. “We suggest recommendations for them to continue making progress on the subject of AI. For example: raise their teams' awareness with training courses to dispel doubts and stimulate their curiosity, prioritize the most relevant use cases, formalize a code of conduct to clarify best practices, centralize experiments to analyze impacts…” illustrates Grégory Gallic.
Finally, the solution enables training managers to better identify the training their teams need. In the coming months, this self-diagnostic tool should also be used as a teaching resource by Cegos. In particular, the training organization plans to administer it to future trainees on its AI training courses, to simplify self-positioning.
