Cegos training solutions: the best pedagogical methods regardless of the delivery option

The Cegos group supports approximately 200,000 learners in their development to professional success every year. Our expertise in best practice, innovative content and pedagogical experience provide our clients with the benefit of unmatched competence in three delivery options:

  • classroom training
  • e-learning programmes
  • blended learning – a combination of the two

Classroom training

Cegos’s effectiveness in this traditional training delivery method is based on two key success factors:

  • The pedagogy applied during the course
    • The variety of pedagogical techniques are designed to put the learner at the heart of the training event: case studies, role-plays, identifying together the principles of good practice.
    • Individual and group activities allow each person not only to benefit from the collective competence of the group, but also facilitate individual assimilation of knowledge and skills which is not the same for all participants.
    • The training consultant becomes a facilitator. Their role is to assist the group in discovering things for themselves, and not instrusting them in WAYS of doing things that cannot possibly apply to everyone's particular circumstances. The trainer facilitates applying knowledge to real-life situations, giving each person the keys to taking ownership of their own learning and using it in their job and company.

  • Placing this training within a timeframe

Training is a unique learning event which begins well before the first session and, more importantly, continues long after the course has finished.

To maximize the opportunity training represents, Cegos offers a set of solutions and methodologies that go far beyond simply classroom presentations:

  • Individualised support upstream to optimise the effectiveness of the training programme, and downstream to implement the newly acquired skills and knowledge.
  • Individualised coaching by the training consultant to transfer operational knowledge into sustainable practical professional applications.
  • Validation and certification of skills.

Make sustainable changes in practices and behaviours

In 2006, 50,000 people benefited from Cegos’s training in their company
Most companies with which we work don't ask us simply to "train their staff"; most often they want us to help them effect sustainable changes in behaviours and practices.
In addition to the training itself, the entire system must guarantee the project’s success: to ensure the change is legitimate, to inspire real change through action, and to support the learner during their "first steps."

E-learning:
During a recent study on training methods carried out by the Cegos Observatoire, 86% of respondents said they were satisfied with training programmes that included e-learning.
A multimedia based training system enables optimising the training programme: it is easier to organise the allotted time, and it allows a more individualised learning pace.

As a result of the many different assignments we have carried out, we have the ability to fine-tune the classroom/distance sequencing to best fit the learners and the course content.

3 key criteria:

  • Attractive tools (graphics, navigation, interactivity)
  • Motivation of learners (progression, tutoring, games)
  • Effective materials (good practice guidelines, evaluation quiz).

4 factors for success:

  • Tutorials to instigate a dialogue, even at a distance.
  • Monitoring to validate knowledge through help tools, "must have" knowledge guidelines, and FAQ
  • Involvement of management at every step
  • Communication, which launches and extends the actual training
