Cegos employees on a humanitarian mission with Planète Urgence
Since December 2002, Cegos has supported employees wishing to join a humanitarian project led by Planète Urgence.
Through the partnership with Planète Urgence employees can join a short-term mission (2 to 3 weeks) during their paid leave with financial support from Cegos.
Volunteers in a Solidarity Leave project offer their skills in missions to help structured organisations such as village associations, local NGOs, or schools.
Every year Cegos finances 15 employees to join a Planète Urgence mission, mainly in West Africa (e.g. Niger, Mali, Benin, Burkina Faso).
Testimonials:

"This mission gave me the chance to design an entire project from start to finish. It helped me become more autonomous (context of the mission), acquire new skills (agronomy), and learn to be adaptable (culture)."
Eric Benguigui, who went to Mali to help agronomy professors launch a fund-raising project. |
"It was a very enriching experience. You learn a lot in this type of initiative, in particular how to adapt quickly both culturally and professionally. The contact with the children was magical. They really are like sponges, just soaking up everything you give them really quickly. This makes our mission even more interesting because we can actually see the effect our contribution is making. Even if this is like laying only one brick of a big building; there's nothing more moving than seeing children smiling and happy to be with you. Their smiles are worth all the effort in the world!" Kalia Bouguerra, a consultant who went to Benin on a school support mission |

"I got back as much as I gave… You enjoy such a good rapport with people, and matching the training to the local situation makes you even more aware of the daily reality in the country. Not to mention the people you meet and their generosity... An absolutely incredible experience that I can't wait to repeat!" Pascale Dromigny, a consultant who went to Niger.

Cegos, together with Planète Urgence, funded 30,000 school kits
During January and February 2007, Cegos pledged to donate to Planète Urgence 20 euros from each training course towards the cost of assembling and distributing school kits in Africa.
As a result of this exceptional initiative, 30,000 school kits were prepared for the beginning of the school year in September 2007 in countries including Benin, Cameroon, Madagascar, and Mali. In this way Cegos is playing an active role in ensuring the education of thousands of children.
