Planète Urgence, providing education and offering support in developing countries

Cegos employees involved in humanitarian mission with Planète Urgence

For 10 years Cegos has been supporting the projects of employees wishing to take part in a humanitarian mission in partnership with the association Planète Urgence. Planète Urgence effectively allows employees to commit to a short term mission (2 to 3 weeks) during their paid holidays with the financial support of Cegos.

Employees who volunteer for Congé Solidaire apply their skills to structures organised and selected with care: village-based associations, local NGOs, schools.

Cegos finances about 20 employees each year to take up a mission, mainly in Africa (Niger, Mali, Bénin, Burkina Faso etc).

Testimonial

“I received as much as I gave. The richness of the exchanges and the application of training to local situations highlighted the daily realities of the country even more. Not forgetting the encounters and the generosity. An incredible experience which I would like to repeat one day .”

Cegos supports the association LINGOs and gives several NGOs access to its e-learning training modules.

This partnership began in 2010 in Haïti where the volunteers of the local associations trained in project management and inter-personal relationships. The LINGOs association (Learning for International NGOs – www.lingos.org) includes 45 NGOs such as Oxfam, Save the Children, Care, WWF, World Vision, Catholic Relief Services etc.

The aim: offering volunteers from these associations and assisted populations access to whatever online training is available.
